“Sub-Saharan Africa can play a vital role in food security,” says AfricaRice DG Dr Papa Seck



It is expected that between now and 2050 the
world population will increase by 2.3 billion. Much of this increase will be
concentrated in developing countries, with sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) leading the
way, as its population is estimated to double from 770 million in 2005 to 1.5
billion by 2050.
